Rules project

Rules Project
My father is arriving from Arizona to visit me today and his pet peeve is  when somebody ends a sentence in a preposition.  However according to grammar.quickanddirtytips.com/ending-prepositions.aspx
that is not a rule and it is OK to end a sentence in a preposition.   So I will try not to do it to please him but at least now I know it is not a grammar rule.

  1. It's good to know that this use of a preposition is correct because it's something that I never gave thought to before.

  2. And this is the perfect example of what to do with your language according to your audience. YOU know ending a sentence with a preposition is not a rule, and yet you are sensitive to your audience's pet peeves. THAT is why you are a successful communicator!
